Bursley Bishop Hoefer

Governance Committee Chair

Bursley received her BBA in Finance from SMU and began her career in the aerospace industry at Rockwell Space Operations Company in Houston. She held a leadership role at McDonnell Douglas as Manager of Strategic Planning/Contracts Management in Houston, Washington DC and Florida. Her business acumen and leadership led to significant roles with community partnerships in locations around North America. She served Junior Leagues in both Montreal and Bergen County, NJ. As VP of Community Development she initiated the founding of the Rebuilding Together chapter in NJ and was Founding Chairman and Executive Director.

Delighted to return to Dallas in 2001, she immediately became involved with a variety of not for profit organizations, mostly focused on children, especially those with physical and intellectual differences. In 2004, she partnered with her young son to help Texas Scottish Rite Hospital raise awareness and funds for the hospital.  Bursley has continued her support for the Hospital as Chairman of the KidSwing Event and, for the past 12 years,  as a KidSwing Executive Board Member helping to raise over $2M for the hospital.  Her son’s schools were also regular beneficiaries of her volunteer service. Leading the effort to create a new philanthropy for the Dallas Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter and continuing her relationship with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, she was Founding Chairman of Cookies & Castles, an annual community family charity event held at TSRHC started in 2008.  She served as Alumnae Chapter President and currently serves on the Stars & Crescent Philanthropies Inc. Board.  She was recognized in 2011 as Outstanding Dallas Alumna. Bursley enjoys competitive tennis and non-competitive golf with her son, Stephen, husband Steve, family and friends.
Every teammate served by Connecting Point deserves the opportunity to be recognized as a valued member of our community and Bursley is honored to help the Board make this a reality while making new friends.
